Blog # 3- Surrealism

Surreal Project 9-26-08
For this project I used three images and layered them...First I took the image of New York City with a purple background and used free transform to scale it to look right with the moon background. The eraser tool was used to erase the purple background. I also used the 'multiply' option to make it less see through (some of the buildings seemed to have a little bit of a see through effect which I didn't want). Next I found a picture of a dragon and layered it with the others, free transformed it so I could make it in the exact position I wanted it in and scaled it to the right size. I wanted to make it look like the dragon is sitting on a building, but the top of the buildings aren't all wide enough so hopefully it looks okay. After erasing the background with the eraser tool(which became rather tedious getting inbetween his wings, etc). I then darkened him since he sort of had a little bit of a very thin outline from not getting close enough with the eraser, so darkening it took care of that so it wasn't visible. I enjoyed creating this and can hopefully continue learning more photoshop techniques to use for the next project.

Self Portrait # 1

Hopefully I did this in the way I was supposed to do the assignment. I also hope I can figure out how to post the self portrait image but just in case I will bring a printing of it to class tommarow. Anyways, the tools I used were the blur option in which I blurred mostly everything but myself in the photo. I then increased the contrast and changed the curves. The ones I changed and what I changed them to are: RGB- 115 input and 173 output, Red- 126 input and 220 output, Green- 148 input and 128 output, Blue-228 input and 154 output. I experimented with other things also.
